Oil-Free Machinery, LLC Customers

Several microturbine companies

High temperature, aggressive environments, sometimes used in vehicles as well as industrial applications. This requires several trade secret technologies and practices to enable operation over 500°C with a robust operating range.


Fuel cell blower manufacturers

Essential to increasing output of a fuel cell is a blower to move more air through the fuel cell. However, that air must be free of oil to protect the fuel cell. High volume manufacturing and automotive environments makes this a challenging application.


Industrial blowers

Modern high speed motors with state of the art centrifugal compressor design can be made more efficient with foil bearings. Seen in water treatment applications and other high energy usage applications where efficiency is critical.


Aerospace turbines


Rotordynamics of all turbomachinery

Rotordynamics modeling for high speed and industrial turbomachinery with oil-free or conventional bearings. This includes pumps, compressors, integrally geared machines, and gas turbines.


Turbochargers

Foil bearings are a natural fit for turbochargers, permitting low maintenance, removing oil seals, and making more flexible installation requirements.


Turboexpanders

High speed and typically continuous running, foil bearings permit greater performance with reduced maintenance


Super-Critical CO2 power generation
